Gemmed (gemmed.io) is run by Invested Inc., a Delaware corporation. You can play without an account, a name or a password. This page says what we keep, why, and how to have it deleted. Questions go to quincy@invested.inc.
What we keep
- A player ID. A random code made in your browser on your first visit. It is not linked to your name.
- Your guesses and results, with the time of each, stored under that player ID. They restore your progress and feed your streak, your stats and the combined player stats everyone sees.
- Your email, if you give it. With it we keep the player ID of each device you gave it on, where you gave it (after a game or at the archive), the category you were playing, and the date. The email opens the archive on each of those devices.
- Analytics. PostHog records page views, taps and clicks, game events (a slab viewed, a guess, a finish, a share, a category switch, an email given, but never the email itself), errors, browser and device details, an approximate location from your IP address, and your player ID. We do not record your screen.
- Request data. Our host, Vercel, processes IP addresses and request details to serve the site and to limit abuse.
What your browser stores
- Local storage: your player ID, sound on or off, whether you have seen the instructions, and whether you gave an email.
- Session storage: which slabs you have revealed during this visit.
- A cookie with the last category you played, so the home page opens there.
- PostHog's own cookie and local storage, which hold its analytics ID for your browser.
There are no advertising cookies. Clearing your browser's storage starts you over as a new player; it does not delete what we already hold.
We have not sent any email yet. When we do, it may be about Gemmed (new sections and features) or about other Invested Inc products and offers, such as Highlight Packs. Every marketing email will have an unsubscribe link, and you can ask to be removed at any time by writing to us. We never sell or rent the list. Only Invested Inc and the service providers who send email for us will see it.
Who processes it
PostHog (analytics), Vercel (hosting and slab photos) and Neon (our database), and later an email-sending service. They process data for us under their own terms, in the United States. We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or show ads.
How long we keep it
Game data and emails are kept for as long as Gemmed runs, unless you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is kept for PostHog's standard retention period.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold, wherever you live. Write to quincy@invested.inc with your email address, your player ID, or both. Your player ID on this device is none yet (play a slab first).
Children
Gemmed is meant for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us an email, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold, but no system is perfectly secure.

Each answer links to the original sale listing. Those sites have their own privacy policies. See our Terms for the rest of the rules.
